Adrianna wants to play Super Mario Brothers all the time now. One of the first things she asks when she gets home from school is, “Can I play Super Mario Brothers?”
This does have its benefits on occasion. For instance, we can tell her that she can play as soon as her homework is finished or as soon as her room has been picked up. This works as a fabulous motivator. Sometimes.
On the other hand, it can get quite annoying when she asks us every five minutes, “Can I play now?”
Tonight has been one of those times where I am getting tired of her asking me to play. I finally told her that I don’t want her to ask me again. After about 10 minutes of freedom from this question, I heard her start back up.
“Mommy?” (By the tone of her voice, my intuition told me she was going to ask THAT question once again.)
“Adrianna, I don’t want you to ask that question anymore. Remember?”
“I wasn’t going to ask you THAT. I have to tell you something.”
“Okay, what do you need to tell me?”
“Ummm…umm…[long pause]…I love you, Mommy.”
Greg reminded me earlier that perhaps we shouldn’t be too surprised at her love of the game, even at the age of four, considering that we played so many video games (Yoshi’s Story) on our honeymoon. We also registered for a Nintendo 64 system as a wedding gift (and received it – thanks Shad and Lynette!). We spent many hours late into the night playing Mario Kart and Tetris after I would get home from my late shift at Godfathers Pizza. Those were fun times. 🙂
Zach can probably sympathize with you…he has some blond girl asking him to play a lot too 🙂 I am so glad my family loves playing games!
We really enjoy the coin battles too. That is the one I usually choose if it is just Adrianna and myself playing. 🙂
