Birthday Party

Bree hadn’t had a big birthday party for several years and I don’t think Cate had ever had one (not counting celebrations with family), so I decided it was time. With the busyness of the holidays, having to plan birthday parties on top of it has always felt daunting, so I decided to have a combined party, and to have it at a nearby trampoline place, requiring little from me. It was a good decision.

Twelve kids were able to come, mostly friends from their homeschool coop and one from church. I planned it on a Monday afternoon when public schools were still in session so that we’d have the place to ourselves. The kids spent time on the trampolines and playing laser tag. I think they all had a good time; I know the girls did!

Adrianna was a huge help to me. She willingly hung decorations, filled goodie bags, poured juice, and passed out food. One of the other moms (with younger kids) quipped, “Where can I get a teenager?” 🙂

Adrianna was a huge help to me. She helped me decorate, put together treat bags, serve cupcakes and drinks, and with general crowd control. One of the other moms commented, “Where can I get myself a teenager?” 🙂
