Snow Storm!

Well, it wasn’t as large as our huge snowstorm in 2006 (at 45.7″ – the 2nd largest snowstorm for the area), but it measured 4th at 27.1″, which isn’t too shabby. We didn’t see quite that much in the form of snow at our house, as I think a lot of the moisture originally came down as rain and the snow was also quite compressed and heavy.

It came down a day later than originally forecast, so we were left waiting impatiently on 3/13.

Then, on Sunday the 14th, it finally started coming down. It was snowing and blowing quite hard all day. The girls still wanted to play outside though. Moose would join them for short periods of time, run back to the door to be let inside, and then want to be let back outside to see them again.

Monday the 15th.

Cate was outside playing in the snow when she came to the door and asked me, “Mom, if I shovel the driveway, will you pay me a dollar?”

The snow is super heavy, so she changed her mind pretty quickly. Shoveling our driveway won’t do a lot of good anyway, since our cul-de-sac still has 12-15 inches of snow in it and we don’t expect it will get plowed, so we can’t even make it to the track that other cars have forged through the neighborhood.
