I love Adrianna’s big questions (even if I don’t know how to answer all of them) and her sweet and confident faith.
Today, we were in the car when one of my favorite songs came on the radio: Your Hands by JJ Heller. I was explaining to Adrianna that I like the song because it talks about how Jesus is with us even when we are sad or scared and He holds us in His hands. That is when she asked me, “Does God live in the sky?” I answered along the lines of, “Kinda, but did you know Jesus wants to live in our hearts and be with us always? If we want to be His friend and just ask Him to come live in our heart, He will live in our heart too.”
Without hesitation, I heard her sweet voice softly but confidently ask from the backseat, “Can you come live in my heart, please God?” And then to me she said, “God is a good friend.” Oh, my heart just melted. Yes Adrianna, yes He is. If only we could all have such a sweet, childlike faith.
How precious!! i hope Layla and Aidan begin to understand more and more. I try and talk to them as much as i can about God and Jesus.
My heart just melted too. Precious girl.
Very sweet Amber!
Yes, so sweet. The faith of a child is a wonderful thing. It reminds me of a song I learned when I was about Adrianna’s age:
Into my heart, into my heart,
Come into my heart, Lord Jesus.
Come in today, come in to stay.
Come into my heart, Lord Jesus.
That is so sweet. It is amazing that the littlest ones seem to have such a deep understanding of God, Jesus, and faith.
That brought tears to my eyes…
