Writings

Adrianna is learning a lot at preschool and lately has been excited to write her letters for me at home. Her latest thing has been to ask me to spell out a word of her choice and she will write the letters out on paper. There are a few that she doesn’t know how to write yet, but often she is willing to try if I will demonstrate first.

Here are a few of the words she wrote down a few days ago.

If you look closely, you can see “peanut”, “bed” and “bear” with what is supposed to be “elephant” jumbled and wrapped around in the middle. (The T at the end of “bear” belongs to the “elephant”.)

She also enjoys playing games where we each try to think of as many words as we can that start with a certain letter sound. She is getting pretty good at that and can even identify some letter sounds, and by that also the letter, in the middle of words.

One additional thing she likes to do is to play with letter tiles such as you would find in Scrabble, and ask me to spell out certain words so she can find the letters and put together a word.

I hope this continues; we are looking forward to playing word games with her soon. Maybe we will have another Big Boggle contender one day. 🙂
