Adrianna made Bree an Oreo cake for her upcoming birthday. She even made everything (except the oreos themselves) from scratch. We may have to celebrate a day or two early, as we all can’t wait to try it! Doesn’t it look delicious?

Artist of the Month
I was scrolling through my Facebook feed when I saw a drawing that was familiar. That’s Adrianna’s art in the bottom left corner – Artist of the Month at a local library! Funnily enough, the one in the top right corner (which was just a photo copy) was also Adrianna’s! LOL. I believe these were […]
Watercolor Cats
An art teacher at the girls’ Homeschool Options school, Ms. Hickman, has been creating weekly watercolor tutorials for her students. All three girls did the latest tutorial together, even though only Adrianna and Bree have her for actual classes this year. I think their cats turned out great, each according to their own styles and […]
Week of March 22-28
Bree and Cate watch Mo Willems Doodles while Adrianna works on her biology. Another family walk in our neighborhood. Art class via an online video. Adrianna’s been busy with other art projects, too. And homemade cupcakes! And some more art from Bree, too. The girls love their Marble Run.
Custom Joy-Con
Adrianna created a custom decal for her Nintendo Switch Joy-Cons. It turned out pretty cool! She used our regular printer to print the pattern on printable vinyl and then cut it out using our Silhouette Cameo.
Digital Drawing
Adrianna enjoys doing digital drawing on the iPad and on her laptop. These are her latest, created in sketch.io (a free online program.) I know a lot of people worry about their kids getting too much “screen time.” But this is a prime example of why it is important that we differentiate between the TYPES […]
3D Pen
Our homeschooling this week has been very relaxed so far. We are doing more interest-led learning this week since we’ve already met our required days/hours for the year. (Just don’t tell the girls we’ve met our required days/hours because I *do* still plan on doing some more actual bookwork, even if at a relaxed pace, […]
Maker Camp
Adrianna got to attend a Maker Camp, where she worked on several fun projects. She used a wood-burning tool to make Greg a Father’s Day present, a 3-D pen to make glasses frames, and also used a Cameo to create her own Undertale shirt (using an Undertale font and graphic.) She’ll get to go again […]
Library Field Trip
And then we spent some time at the library where one child accidentally set off a door’s emergency alarm and another one burnt her finger on a hot glue gun bad enough that we had to leave. (She’s fine but it hurts.) But the paper flower craft (made from an old book) she made is […]
Portrait of Bree
Adrianna drew a picture of Bree today. I think it is a pretty good resemblance. She did use Sketch Wizard (shows reflections of pictures for drawing purposes) to help with the placement of the facial features, but I am still pretty impressed.
