Anyone else like to geek out and keep track of the numbers rolled when playing a game of Settlers of Catan? No? Just us? It’s fun seeing how the numbers stack up against their probability. Last night was a rarity with only three 7s rolled! (Which was nice, since I despise that dang robber!)
My Little Pony Camping
Bree and Cate are excited to hear we might go camping this summer. (Although who knows when this social distancing might end?) But at any rate, they made their ponies a campsite. They even included sleeping bags and “campfires” in the camping sites.
March 2020
A quick glimpse of our March in #1secondeveryday. What started out as a time with live music and hanging out with extended family and friends during the the first week quickly transitioned to time spent with just our little family of five. What a difference a few weeks makes! #onesecondeveryday
Chalk Your Walk
Our neighborhood participated in Chalk Your Walk, where everyone was encouraged to leave notes of inspiration and colorful drawings. The girls participated with enthusiasm. We enjoyed walking through our neighborhood to see everyone else’s drawings and writings on their sidewalks and driveways.
Week of March 22-28
Bree and Cate watch Mo Willems Doodles while Adrianna works on her biology. Another family walk in our neighborhood. Art class via an online video. Adrianna’s been busy with other art projects, too. And homemade cupcakes! And some more art from Bree, too. The girls love their Marble Run.
Week of March 15-21
Greg has been growing broccoli sprouts. Another family walk. Bree and Cate especially enjoy these walks. They like to run on some bike hills nearby (when they are not busy with other kids riding bikes.) Bree’s reading is progressing wonderfully. I’m so proud of how well she is doing. Since we aren’t going anywhere, I’ve […]
Mo Willems Doodles
Bree and Cate have been watching some of the Mo Willems Doodles videos, where the author Mo Willems talks about his creativity process and then shares how to do some of the doodles. Their drawings of Pigeon turned out great!
Settlers of Catan
Taught the little girls how to play Settlers of Catan this week. They were on a “team” together, which helped save some of the normal frustrations and jealousies. [Greg won, in case anyone is wondering.] We’ve been doing the social distancing since last Thursday and so far, it’s been going great. We’ve had lots of […]
A Last Gathering
Greg and I have come to the difficult decision to start practicing “social distancing” as a family. We have been watching the news of the coronavirus/COVID-19 and have had many discussions on preparing as a family and when we plan to withdraw from our normal activities. He has been working from home since Monday, March […]
Game Night!
After the LONG day at the regional talent show, Karen and Zach joined us for dinner at Chipotle. We had arrived at the venue at 3pm and because of all the delays and technical issues, it didn’t end until 8pm. We were SO hungry. Afterward, we all played a game of Settlers of Catan, Cities […]
