For our 21st anniversary, we had a nice dinner in. Adrianna offered to make dinner for herself and the little girls and that she would watch them in the basement so that Greg and I could have some time to ourselves, but we decided that we would prefer a nice family dinner all together. So we got take-out from Outback. Mmmm, steak. Cate even dressed up fancy, which was super cute. And the girls made sure to set the table extra-nice, which was thoughtful.
One hard thing about this pandemic IS the fact that Greg and I get so little time on our own now. No special dates at a restaurant, theatre, or concert. But we’ve found one unexpected thing that we enjoy doing to make up for that lost time alone; driving to pick up food from local restaurants. Since Adrianna is old enough to babysit, we can leave the girls home and Greg and I can get some time together in the car where we can talk without interruptions or worries about being overheard. It has been such a nice thing, so much so that I enjoy picking up takeout quite a bit these days! Picking up wings at a local wing place has become a Friday night staple that I look forward to each week, and we have a couple of local pizza places we frequent, too.
