This morning, Adrianna woke up around 8 and began happily talking to and playing with her toys in her crib like she does every morning. It was my turn to get up with her, but since we had stayed up until past 2 the night before, I was glad to let her stay in her crib a little longer since she seemed content.
Awhile later, Greg heard a thump or something so he got up and went to check on her. She wasn’t in her crib. She was downstairs playing. We don’t know how long she was down there, and that worries me a bit. The other thing that worries me is that we didn’t hear her get out of her crib or walk past our door. The previous time she climbed out her crib, quite a few months ago, we heard a thump as she landed on the floor. But I suppose she is more agile now.
When I asked her why she got out of her crib she said, “I took a good nigh-nights.” I agreed with her, and then asked her again why she got out of her crib. She replied, “I cimbed out.” I guess little Miss Independence decided to take matters into her own hands since she was done sleeping.
I think our days of Adrianna using a crib are going to be coming to a close soon. I guess this means we need to think some more about child-proofing her room (completely) and putting a baby gate across her door every night. And converting her crib to a toddler bed. I don’t think I am ready for this.
oh man!! hehe thats still a little funny, i would be freaking out a bit though. i guess toddler bed time! If not there are those nets you can put over the crib where they cant get out…if you would like to delay time.
Actually, the sounds I heard were her dropping out of her crib and walking past our door. She had only just walked downstairs when I found her.
Okay, so I guess it was just me who was totally asleep and oblivious to the world around me. 🙂
