I know a lot of people worry about their kids getting too much “screen time.” But this is a prime example of why it is important that we differentiate between the TYPES of screen time. Much of it can be productive and help prepare them for future careers (or further their talents.) Adrianna has learned that while I might limit her time on Minecraft (although even that has creative elements!), I often am quick to let her spend lots of time drawing online, creating music in GarageBand, reading an ebook, etc., because these are creative and/or learning activities. It may not look like our childhood of paper books or paper sketch pads, but technology is our future and we are preparing them for careers that may not even exist yet. (For instance: Greg’s career didn’t exist when he was her age!) </end soapbox speech/>
