Snow Mountain Ranch

We stayed two nights at the Snow Mountain Ranch – YMCA of the Rockies.

Greg and the girls making hiking sticks for our afternoon hike. ⛰️

What you don’t see: for much of the mile hike to the waterfall (near Granby), one of the children was whining and complaining, often stopping to throw her stick to the ground and sitting down in anger and lagging behind unless we held her hand so that she would keep up with us. Thankfully, on the way back everyone was in good spirits though and it ended on a high note.

A visit to an old Colorado homestead (The Rowley Homestead). We’ve been reading the Laura Ingalls Wilder books with the girls, so it was fun to pretend we were in Little House on the Prairie 😉 (though this homestead was built about 40 years after the story takes place.)

There were hummingbirds, which are always a fun sight.

The girls also went rollerskating.

Sadly, somewhere around the time we went rollerskating, Adrianna misplaced her beloved sweater. We never did recover it. 🙁

On our way home, we decided to drive through Rocky Mountain National Park, where we hiked to the top of the mountain at the visitor center.

And made a quick stop to the Alluvial Fan.
