To my Mom:
My 2nd Mother’s Day without you wasn’t any easier than the first. Not a day goes by that I don’t miss you or wish I could share something that happened or the girls did. When we visited your grave today, Greg asked the girls what they remembered about Nanna. Bree (age 7) said she remembered that you “always played ponies with her.” Cate (age 4) said she remembers “Nanna’s big burps.”* You were always willing to play and be silly with the girls and you were definitely proud of those burps, too. Miss you always.

*She loved to brag that she was the best belcher in the 5th grade. Her teacher once sent her out to the hallway because she and a friend were doing it in class.
