Week 2 of Homeschooling

Well, we just finished our second week of homeschooling. All but the final day (yesterday) went really well. Yesterday was one of those days where Adrianna just didn’t want to pay attention, so I finally gave up and we’ll make up the remainder of the work another day. I know these days will happen from time to time.

On Thursday, I wore a flowing brown skirt. Anytime I dress up in a dress or skirt, Adrianna gets excited and wants to dress up too. Granted, she would wear a dress almost daily anyways. But she decided she wanted to match me, so she chose to wear this cute little brown dress from my childhood. I wore this dress when I was in Kindergarten too, so it was so cool seeing it on her.

Here is my girl, hard at work.

I just have to point out the monster on the wall. It is a “Wild Thing” that she made at her homeschool co-op last week after they read the book Where The Wild Things Are aloud together. Notice that he is gnashing his terrible teeth!

We took a walk to the park as a break from our school day.

Having “Circle Time” with some friends. Adrianna really enjoyed circle time at her Junior Kindergarten last year. She isn’t sitting “criss-cross apple sauce” though.

  1. I really like her desk 🙂 I think it is so special you teaching her first years, mom taught me and I still always remember mom teaching me to read!

  2. I love the picture of Bree in the shadow. She looks so grown up. And it looks like Adrianna is a studious little girl. I remember how I loved holding my pencil and learning to write. Fun, fun, fun!

  3. I wasn’t sure if you remembered, but your Grandma made that dress for you Amber 🙂 Grandma made several dresses, on some of them she put a label on the inside with her name, but very few of them are that way, so just have to rely on my memory. Better get me to tell you all the dresses she made soon while I still remember hehe!

  4. LOL – you have a keen eye Angela. That is indeed the workbook she is using. 🙂

I am glad you commented too Mom. I didn’t see a store tag on the dress so I was wondering if it was one that Grandma made for me. 🙂
