Wobbly

Another Bree-ism: “Daddy, today we had a fire drill. I was nervous and my stomach felt all wobbly!”

I love, love, LOVE that she is getting better at recognizing her feelings AND expressing them. And she even volunteered information on several things that happened today at her homeschool co-op, which is a BIG deal. One of the things she told me was that she made two friends today, which is an even bigger deal. It really makes my heart happy.

Bree had a rough time with them in preschool. They would warn her beforehand and she’d still scream the whole time. Which was pretty much her response to ANY loud or unexpected noise when she was younger; blizzard machine at Dairy Queen, booming bass from a car driving by, etc. Once we got her SPD diagnosis, it felt like we finally understood SO.MUCH.

Bree was still really nervous about them last year in Kindergarten. We worked out a deal with her teacher continue to warn her prior to the alarm going off, which helped a lot. They still make her nervous, but she doesn’t scream the whole time, so that’s progress! She even proudly told me last time that she didn’t scream. Haha.
