I think I am falling back in love with my crock pot. With it, I made some delicious corn chowder and also some fried chicken this week. Both turned out fabulous and now I have two new recipes to add to the cooking repertoire. I also made my own seasoned salt today. Just call me Susie Homemaker…but don’t look too closely at the house itself because it could still use a bit of cleaning! (And by a bit, I mean a lot.)

Modifications I made (based on her recommendations at the end): Instead of 2 teaspoons of seasoned salt, I used 1 Tablespoon. I also added an additional 1/4 teaspoon of onion powder more than the original recipe called for.I did the cooking on high for 6 hours option. Verdict: This was falling-off-the-bone delicious and very flavorful. I have added it to my recipe box to make again.

This was so easy to make and made yummy leftovers! My only suggestion would be to keep on eye on the moisture level and add some toward the end if needed. (We needed to add just a little.) I used real bacon rather than “bacon bits” because everything is better with bacon!
