The Science of Ice Cream

We had our second homeschool field trip to enjoy a class, “The Science of Ice Cream”, at a local Children’s Museum. It was a fun science experiment to show the 3 different states of matter (solid, liquid and gas) with the yummy result of homemade ice cream to enjoy at the end. The solid was sugar, the liquid was cream and vanilla and the gas was air. All went into a sealed ziploc baggie which we put into a larger ziploc filled with ice and salt. Then we had to shake for 15 minutes or so.

Making Ice Cream

After we had ice cream, we spent another couple of hours playing. One of Adrianna’s favorite activities is dressing up and tap dancing on the dance floor.

She also enjoys digging for pirate treasure.
