More Pumpkins and Trunk-or-Treating

On Friday the 24th, Cindy, Layla, and Aidan came down to visit for the weekend.

While they were here, we visited the pumpkin patch. The kids played with the pumpkins and ran all over the haybale and corn maze; often in several directions at once. Cindy and I got our exercise trying to keep up with three kids all ages 2-3.

Then we went to our church’s Trunk-or-Treat. (It was a good practice run for Halloween the following week.) Layla was pretty shy at first, but eventually she was pulling ME towards the cars for candy. Adrianna was really good about saying “Trick or Treat!” and Aidan also wasn’t shy; he was often seen putting his hand into the candy bowls and helping himself to big scoopfuls of candy.

This was as close as we could get to a picture of all three kids staying still.

As you can see, Layla was Eeyore, Aidan was a dragon/dinosaur, and Adrianna was Minnie Mouse. We had planned on finding her a kitty outfit of some sort (at her request), but when she and I were out shopping, I made the mistake of stopping in at the Disney Store. At first, she changed her mind and wanted to be Ariel, but then she saw Minnie Mouse and her mind was made up. (She also talked about being a princess since that is what her friend Lily was going to be, so I was glad to settle for Minnie Mouse instead. Although I am not sure we will be able to stave off the princess fever much longer!)

After the Trunk-or-Treat, we all went inside the church to watch the Bee Movie and for popcorn. The kids were all very excited about the movie and when it started, Layla even clapped her hands and loudly exclaimed, “Bee! Bee!” They all did pretty good during the moving, considering their ages.

Thanks Cindy for making the drive down here. We all had such a good time. Greg is especially glad that he is still Layla’s beloved Uncle “Geg” even after her tears over having to take that splinter out of her hand!!
