Adrianna has invented a new game that she calls, “Roll Ball.” I first heard of the game a few days ago when she asked me if I wanted to play “row baw” with her. It took me a little while to realize that she was saying “roll ball.” Once I understood, I agreed to play.
The rules are simple, but that doesn’t stop our newly-turned three year old from bossing me around and explaining what I need to do in order to properly play.
- You sit on opposite sides of the room
- You must spread your legs out in order for the ball to roll to you. This is important. If you don’t spread your legs out, Adrianna will quickly inform you to “fold your legs”
- You roll the ball back and forth. Sounds simple, but if you roll it too fast or do not use the correct hand motions, one very bossy preschooler will be sure to let you know and show you how to do it for your next turn.
- If there are multiple balls in the house, be prepared to pause the game to switch one ball for another. Even if they are identical.
- Do not bounce the ball. Even if the other player (i.e. Adrianna) bounces it on her previous turn, that does not give you permission to bounce it back.
Well, I think she is ready to be a big sister [someday]. She has the bossiness part down pat.
hmm Amber that is the second post within a 2 weeks that mentions a Adrianna “practicing” for a big sister role…:) just messing, she probably enjoys layla and aidan to boss around i am sure
I was gonna say that for the bossy big sister, Amber knows all about that role 😉
