Adrianna took an Outdoor Lab class at Summit, so in April she got to go to Mountain Lab at Camp Id-Ra-Ha-Je . I volunteered as a chaperone so I could along, too. We had so much fun! Adrianna learned how to make a campfire, spent time on the climbing wall, and we both got to […]

Field Trip to Barr Lake
Nature Scavenger Hunt
We spent several happy hours at Waneka Lake with our homeschool group. We had a nature scavenger hunt as we walked the 1.7 miles around the lake, followed by a picnic lunch and playing on the playground.
Chihuly at Botanic Gardens
Homeschool Day at the Botanic Gardens. We loved the Chuhily sculptures! Bree enjoyed playing in the many leaves.
Great Sand Dunes
Our visit to Arrakis, er…I mean, the Great Sand Dunes in southern Colorado. I am currently reading “Dune” so it was hard not to picture it in my mind. hehe. Thankfully, there was no need for stillsuits! The idea of those gross me out. Tatooine came up in conversation while we were there, too. We […]
Living History Days
The time period is colonial/Revolutionary War, which is what we are studying right now in history so the timing was great. It was Adrianna’s idea to wear the dress and bonnet. That poor dress is getting so old and worn that it is falling apart so I had to do a bunch of repairs the […]
Disney on Ice
Our homeschool options school got discounted tickets to Disney on Ice – 100 Years of Magic Show at the Denver Coliseum. Aunt Karen came along with us and it was a lot of fun!
Stock Show
The girls and I enjoyed a morning at the National Western Stock Show. Saw lots of horses (to Bree’s delight) and they both got to ride a couple ponies too. Other than a few melt-downs for Bree (most likely due to not enough sleep + over-stimulation from the many people, noises, and smells), it was […]
MAVEN Launch
Adrianna is attending the live videocast in Boulder, with Greg, for the MAVEN launch*. Hooray for a fun field trip for school today! *A spacecraft built in Colorado is scheduled to launch today headed to Mars. MAVEN will try to figure out what happened to the water that scientists think once existed on the red […]
Butterfly Pavilion
Bree watching the butterflies flying around.  It is REALLY tough to get a good picture of Bree. She rarely smiles for the camera (unless she can see herself in the viewfinder and then she makes silly faces.) I have to take a bunch and hope I catch a few good candids. Beautiful baby
