Mountain Lab

Adrianna took an Outdoor Lab class at Summit, so in April she got to go to Mountain Lab at Camp Id-Ra-Ha-Je . I volunteered as a chaperone so I could along, too. We had so much fun! Adrianna learned how to make a campfire, spent time on the climbing wall, and we both got to try our hands at riflery, archery, and rappelling. I was scared to rappel at first but Adrianna and the other chaperone talked me into it. (I am glad they did – it was quite an experience!) Greg, Bree, and Cate came up to camp on the final day to join us for the closing ceremony and camp cookout.

I wish we would have had more time up there. Three days wasn’t enough! I am exhausted now but the whole Mountain Lab School experience was amazing. I am so glad I went as a chaperone and that the chaperones were allowed to do all the activities, too!

And I am super proud of myself for doing the rappelling. I was very scared to do it but am SO glad I tried it. A highlight of the week for me.
