Adrianna hears and understands more than I realize sometimes.
One time I was frustrated with traffic (it’s hard not to be during rush hour in Denver), and I must have grumbled about it. Adrianna was with me and became concerned so I told her everything was okay and that Mommy was just frustrated with the way some other people were driving. So now whenever I may grumble about traffic, I hear a little concerned voice pipe up from the back seat, “Peepohs, Mommy? Peepohs?”
In fact, even if she can tell I am frustrated about something at the house and she and I are the only two around, she will ask that same question. “Peepohs, Mommy?” I guess it is a good thing I don’t curse or rage at traffic since she is so observant!
Adrianna loves to play on my desktop computer. She will sit in the chair and type away on the keyboard while telling me, “Adriwawa wohping.” (Adrianna working, not to be confused with when she says “Adriwawa wopping” [walking] since she uses a slightly different vowel sound.)
I am an impatient person, and I sometimes get irritated at my computer if it starts up too slowly if I am in a hurry to look up something online before Adrianna takes an interest and wants to “help” me and type on the computer too. But I didn’t realize how impatient I must look until a few days ago. Adrianna got on the computer to start “wohping” and started to type away like normal. But then she started to say to herself, “dawnit, dawnit” as she typed away. Whoops.
