A visit to NASA. It rained the entire day, but we still had a fun and inspiring visit at the Kennedy Space Center on Cape Canaveral. I think Greg probably enjoyed it the most though. (Adrianna totally gets her love of space from her Dad! ) Visiting the Space Center was a “bucket list” item for him, if he had such a list. (Now we just need to see a rocket launch – I know that he would love that so much!)
An enjoyable (though somewhat chilly) afternoon at Cocoa Beach.
Disney World’s Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom
Cate had never been to any of the Disney parks (and Bree was a baby when she visited Disney) and we wanted to visit while Cate still was enamored with Minnie Mouse. (Although having *only* visited the Disney parks as an adult, I can vouch that it truly is a magical experience for the entire family!) Greg, Adrianna, and I had been to Disney Land in California twice, but this was our first visit to Disney World, too!
This trip was our anniversary present. And I was happy to meet one of my favorite Disney characters ever, Dug!
The Avatar section of Animal Kingdom is amazing. Pictures cannot capture how beautiful it is – it is a feast for the eyes and you feel like you really are on a different planet.
Universal Studios and the Wizarding World of Harry Potter! Visiting Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley was definitely a highlight for me. The dragon on top of Gringotts! The butterbeer! We even got to ride the Hogwarts Express from Platform 9 3/4, as well as see the vanishing cabinet in Borgin and Burkes in creepy Knockturn Alley. The Dr. Seussland portion of Universal was pretty cute, and we also saw some other fun movie characters in the park.
