February 1
Karen offered to come and watch the girls so Greg and I could have a much-needed date night for our 15th anniversary.
Greg and I headed to downtown Denver to have a delicious BBQ dinner at Southern Hospitality. We then went and saw The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. It was a nice evening to ourselves. We were tempted to go out for ice cream afterward but it had started snowing heavily so we hurried home since Karen had a long drive back to Longmont.
The snow still hadn’t let up by the time we reached home so we talked Karen into staying overnight. In doing so, she became the first family member to get to take advantage of our new guest room. 🙂
The following evening, we had a game night and played Carcossone and Settlers of Catan. Even though Bree isn’t old enough to play yet, she does like to sit at the table with us while playing with her own activities. She even started holding some of her Imaginets cards in her hand as if she were playing.
Bree and Eeyah – we see this view of her a lot as she cuddles her special seahorse.

Fingohs
One of the first things to greet me every morning: little fingers waving at me from under the door, along with a sweet 5yo voice saying, “Fingohs!”
As soon as I open the door, she runs in excitedly as if seeing me is the happiest part of her morning. How I love this girl!
These same “fingohs” often greet me while I try to catch a moment to myself in the bathroom as well…

When we moved to this new neighborhood, we were really hopeful that there would be lots of kids for our girls to play with. So we’ve been excited to see many kids outside playing. We met several families today (thank you, beautiful Colorado sunshine) and amazingly enough, two of the families we met also homeschool. And even more amazing, they attend the same Homeschool Options school that Adrianna goes to (just on a different day.) Right now, I’m feeling like we hit the jackpot!
