New Hardwood Floor

The carpet in our house was quickly deteriorating and was looking not only dingy but also was very uneven, with lots of rolls which made it difficult to vacuum. (I think the previous owners installed the cheapest carpet possible and didn’t stretch it properly.) So we’re excited to finally replace it with hardwood floors on the main level.

We decided to keep the hardwood flooring that was already present in the entry and in the kitchen area. While it did need a good refinishing, it was still in decent shape and we didn’t want to waste perfectly good wood. The flooring company we chose was able to stitch the new floors with the old floors and you cannot even tell where the old ends and the new begins!

We went with a natural stain because we liked that the varying colors in the wood showed through a little better. It is less yellow than the original stain in the house and I love it.
