I have mentioned before that any talk about using the potty brings a strong “No” from Bree. Well today, knowing her love for anything My Little Pony, I bought her some My Little Pony panties.
When I gave the panties to Bree this evening, she was very excited. After about 10 minutes of pointing out the various ponies to me on each of the panties and talking about the ponies, she agreed to use the potty! (I told her she can wear the panties as soon as she goes pee or poop in the potty.)Â Since I was nursing Cate at the time, Greg brought her upstairs and put her on the potty. She sat there for a couple of minutes. Nothing else happened, but just sitting on the potty, willingly, is a huge step forward. Â YAY!
Ha ha. It’s all about finding the right motivation. Good job, Mama!
So far, it is definitely helping. She’s already sat on the potty three times today. Two of those times were her idea. Unfortunately, it was after she went in her diaper so now she just needs to learn the signals and tell me BEFORE it happens.
Even so, I am very happy about the progress. At least she’s not scared to sit on the potty anymore.
