The Best Day Ever

Today was “the best day ever”, according to Adrianna. It started with our homeschool co-op (Options) Orientation. Adrianna was excited to go to Options again, even if it was for just a half day today. She has some really fun classes there this year and some special friends are in several of those classes. (More on that to come.)

Thankfully, Nette was available to watch Bree for me today so I could focus on the Orientation with Adrianna. I am so glad, as there was no way my busy 2 year old would have cooperated through the long periods of discussion and meeting teachers.

After Options, we headed to Boulder. We had heard through a fellow homeschooler that Rosetta Stone was looking for early elementary kids to do some reading / voice work for some research and development they are doing. It paid $25 for one hour. Adrianna had done a test a year earlier for a charter school study where she’d earned $25 for an hour and had recently told me to sign her up for something like that again. She got to wear a headset with an attached microphone and all she had to do was listen to a sentence and then repeat it back. An employee there would record each one on his computer.

Adrianna did a great job. She was enthusiastic about it and even more enthusiastic when she received her very own $25 Visa Gift card afterward!

The Rosetta Stone office was right off the Pearl Street Mall so we decided to spend the rest of our afternoon there.

Adrianna ran through the fountains.

We enjoyed some of the street performers.

And wrapped up our afternoon with an early dinner and cheesecake from The Cheesecake Factory.

It really was a nice day together. I enjoyed listening to her chatter and spending time with my sweet 7yo.
