It’s Another Girl

We had an ultrasound on August 16th (when I was 19 weeks along). Everything looks great! And it looks like we are having another girl! Yay! We weren’t too surprised at the news that it would be another girl. Adrianna (and Greg) were hoping for a boy but of course we are all excited for another girl too. And I have many bins of hand-me-downs from her two big sisters so we should be set for clothing. I had previously donated a few larger items (bassinet, swing) and our baby carseat is now expired so we will repurchase those. I still don’t know what the bedroom situation will end up being, but we have plenty of time to figure that out yet.

The baby wiggled around the entire time but never did let the tech get a good picture of her face. Bummer. But she looks healthy and I am already looking forward to meeting her. 🙂

I am still feeling great. I am tired, but not as exhausted as I was for the 1st trimester. I still am having quite a bit of heartburn and my ankles have virtually disappeared into my swollen feet. I only have one pair of sandals/shoes that currently fit. They have a broken strap on them but I think I will continue to make do since trying on shoes right now is pretty pointless as my feet are so misshapen. But all in all, these are minor complaints and I am happy things are going so well.

Since I had gestational diabetes with both of my prior pregnancies and I also have PCOS, we are pretty certain I will test positive for gestational diabetes again. Which means the doctor will have me do the test earlier than normal and we will skip straight to the 3 hour glucose test. I will get that done in 5 weeks. So only 5 more weeks of delicious carbs and not having to monitor every single thing I eat by pricking my fingers afterward.
