Other July Happenings

I have gotten behind on posting. Here are a few more happenings from the month of July.

Pneuma Park Day – July 8th (Pneuma is the name of our homeschool support group)
Adrianna climbed to the top of this park structure with the help of an older boy. (Notice she’s the only girl!?) I was a little nervous about the height and told her to call me over when she was ready to come back down. I am glad I did – as she was climbing down she lost her grip on the rock and fell. Thankfully, I was there to catch her.

Rain Storm – July 8th
We had a huge rainstorm that caused a lot of water to fall in a short amount of time. At one point, the rain was coming down at an angle and almost looked like a blizzard. I’ve never seen so much water on our road. It even covered the sidewalks and came up into our yard and that of our neighbors. A water fall was created when water from the road started pouring into the green belt. The water in the green belt itself must’ve been 4-5 feet deep! Our neighbors next door and across the street both ended up with some flooding in their basements. Somehow, we were lucky and ours stayed dry.

After the storm was a beautiful rainbow.

Audrey’s 5th Birthday Party – July 9th
Adrianna met Audrey at a Pneuma park date in June and the girls totally hit it off so we were invited to her 5th birthday party. The girls had a lot of fun and were excited to find out that they would be attending the same homeschool Options school on the same day this year. They are in different grades but will have one class (P.E.) together.

Poetry and Pie Literary Tea – July 12th
We just returned from a “Poetry and Pie Literary Tea”. It was so fun watching all the little girls (and a couple boys), mostly ages 5-8, recite poems and play together. I love our homeschool group.

Even though Bree is probably getting too old for a bottle and being rocked before bedtime, she is my baby and I am not ready to give the routine up. Especially because I love these rare occasions where she actually falls asleep in my arms while I am rocking her. So precious.

Enjoying Summer – July 21st
Our deck is shady in the mornings and in the late afternoons. That, coupled with the mild Colorado weather, makes for a lot of fun outdoor play. The girls love playing with our water table.

Vacation Bible School – July 18th-22nd
Our church doesn’t have a VBS program, so Adrianna was invited to attend the one at Janette’s church. The theme was “Pandamania”. Adrianna had a blast! She came home every night singing the songs from the program.

Adrianna has her own interpretive dancing style. I even have a cute video. You can see a couple of her friends (Mia and Lilly from Nette’s house) to her left. For awhile, Adrianna insisted that the words to How Great Thou Art were, “Then sings my soul, my Saviour, God, sevine.” I am not sure what a “sevine” is. 🙂

Ethan’s 6th Birthday Party – July 30th
Adrianna was very excited to receive an invite to Ethan’s party. He was one of her best friends at HSC during her Kindergarten year. And most of her classmates were there too, so it was fun to watch them all reunite and play together.

After his party, we went home for some downtime and then headed to Outback for dinner.

Greg and Adrianna have been building a birdhouse together. Adrianna is very proud of it and loves the time with her Daddy.

  1. Such cute pictures of the girls and all that’s been going on in the Reimer household. When I’m missing you I just go to noreimerreason and linger awhile. Glad you’re feeling better.
