Bree at 13 Months

Our little Breezy girl is now 13 months old. She goes in to see the doctor for her 12 month checkup and shots this week (we’ve been a month behind schedule ever since she had RSV back at 3 months). I am anxious to see how much she has grown in height and in weight. I am pretty sure she has gained a lot of weight since her last appointment. At least it sure feels like it when I pick her up – this girl is one solid babe! I guess that makes sense, given her ever-increasing appetite.

She has finally started letting me put “pretties” in her hair. It started when she was carrying around one of Adrianna’s headbands and I put it on her head and raved about the pretty in her hair. Of course she had to reach up and touch it and seemed to like looking at it in the mirror, but she left it in. Hooray! Adrianna has been excited to wear matching barrettes.

Though Bree is not walking yet, she enjoys pushing her little mail cart around. Last week, she was excited to discover that she could also push her own stroller around the park. Bree has also started to walk around holding on to my hands.

I was very excited to see her stand unassisted this evening for the first time. We were getting ready to go out to eat with some friends and, all of a sudden, she was just standing there without holding on to anything. After a few seconds, she realized what she was doing and plopped back down to her bottom, but I see this as big progress. It won’t be long before she is toddling all over the house.

This is the view I get many, many times throughout the day. Mommy, pick me up please?

Bree

Bree and Adrianna are the best of friends. Adrianna loves helping out when it comes to Bree.

Adrianna and Bree

Bree still isn’t sleeping through the night. She typically wakes up around 2 a.m. and again around 6:30 a.m. I know, the 6:30 a.m. time technically could be considered a wake-up-for-the-day time, but after I nurse her she often goes back to sleep for another hour or two. For this I am thankful since the rest of the family, Adrianna included, does not handle early mornings very well. Even so, sometimes Bree still wakes up earlier than I’d like (especially since I am getting up with her twice in the night), so Adrianna will offer to play in the loft and “watch” Bree while Bree chills in her baby swing. It works for us!

Both girls love their Daddy time. If Bree spots Greg’s office door open, she makes a bee-line as fast as she can to go see Daddy. Or, if I carry her in there, she leans out of my arms towards Greg with outstretched arms. She loves her Daddy.

And before I go, a comparison of the girls at 13 months. Such adorable girls. 🙂

13 Month Comparison

I am behind on posting, so I also posted a “Bree at 12 Months” post tonight too. You can view it here. I backdated it so I can find it in the future when I search the archives by month/year, which I often do.
