Faithful Friends

Over the past few weeks, I have noticed an increasing friendship between Adrianna and our dogs, Chloe and Molly. I first took note of it when Adrianna started commenting on our Disneyland trip about how much she missed them. And since we’ve been back, Adrianna is always wanting to play with them, to sleep with them, to hug them and to just be with them.

The dogs, for their part, have been very good about all this new and somewhat unwanted attention. They know their place in our household “pack” order, which is pretty much at the bottom. They also know that, though Adrianna may be above them in the pack order, they don’t have to necessarily come when she calls or do her every bidding. But they do patiently tolerate Adrianna’s sometimes rough embraces and other loving gestures she deems to put them through.

Molly seems extra tolerant of Adrianna’s loving. Or maybe she just isn’t as smart as Chloe in getting away from Adrianna. But no matter the reason, Molly lets Adrianna “doctor” her with all kinds of remedies, including a bunch of pencils, clips, tags, and other miscellaneous items being placed under her collar.

I am so glad that Adrianna has a couple of nice dogs to grow up with. I have so many happy memories of my dogs from my childhood. I still miss those dogs to this day.

  1. I miss all of our pets! We had a wonderful childhood with all the pets Mom and Dad let us have! Gerbils, Ducks, Dogs, Cats, Snakes, Lizards, Turtle (still alive and kickin), Fish…we had a zoo!

  2. I remember dressing up the poor dachshounds and pushing them in strollers, poor things! haha they took it like champs. Batman is like Aidan’s wrestling buddy, and someone for him to boss around, being sick Aidan crawls down on the floor and cuddles him. Layla is like Adrianna on the other hand, she will wrap her boa feathers around his neck and put hats on him. Dogs are great for kids!

  3. Are Teddy and Care Bear taking a back seat? Such darling pictures! I remember my sister and I dressing our cats when we were little. What fun!
