Our California Adventure – Day 7

Our final full day in California began like every other morning, around 9 or 10 a.m. We had brunch at the Daily News Cafe again and then headed to the beach. We were thrilled that it was warm again (high sixties, low seventies).

Greg even got brave enough to take a dip in the waves even though it was still a little cool. He didn’t last long due to the very cold water, but wading in the waves sure looked like fun.

After Greg went swimming, Adrianna was convinced that she wanted to do the same. Greg started to tell her that it was too cold, which began to bring on her tears, so I told him that he should just start walking out in the water with her and that I was sure she would change her mind once she got to her knees. (She did.)

In the afternoon, we decided to visit the Flower Fields in Carlsbad. I really enjoyed viewing so many flowers in so many vivid and beautiful colors.

After the Flower Fields, we headed back to our hotel where the staff had cleaned up our room. We got a kick out of how they put Teddy Bear and Care Bear on the beds. Care Bear even has her Care Bear blanket.

After a light dinner, it was back to the beach. We knew we would have to head back to home and reality the following day, so I think we wanted to take in every moment with the ocean that we could. We also wanted to watch the sun set. We ended up staying for a couple hours. Adrianna and Greg passed the time by playing in the sand. I think Adrianna would have been happy playing in the sand for a LONG time.
