Adrianna was in the bathroom with me this evening when she exclaimed, “Mommy, you have a big butt!” In spite of the insult, I couldn’t help but laugh.
After I was done chuckling, I told her that she shouldn’t say such things to people because it can hurt their feelings and make them sad.
She thought about that for a few moments and then, in all seriousness and with the know-it-all tone that preschoolers have, she told me, “Mommy, you’re not people.”
Double burn.
