So this big meeting that its invite had portrayed to be all-important really…wasn’t. They didn’t give us any information that I didn’t already know from having kept up with the various news reports that I subscribe to. *sigh* The CEO finally sent a communication to all employees this afternoon saying that they have agreed to meet with Staples, which didn’t surprise me given that they hadn’t sent out a communication quickly refusing the offer like they did the for last two. So, everything is still up in the air. No news. I guess there are three options at this point: CE will continue with the merger with Lyreco and reject Staples, CE will accept Staples’s offer which would cancel the merger with Lyreco, or shareholders will reject both the buyout offer and the merger. Until then, I guess it is “business as usual.”
