We had Thanksgiving at our house this year with my side of the family. Everyone came on Friday or Saturday and stayed through Sunday. There was lots of good food and fun games.
Greg and I made mashed potatoes, gravy, green bean casserole, peas, and a turkey. We got the turkey (which I still had to cook) and some wonderful cornbread stuffing from Honeybaked Ham. Dad made sweet potatoes and Cindy and Kendall made a pumpkin pie and cherry pie (from scratch). Everything was amazingly delicious.
Since we won’t be together for Christmas this year, we had our gift exchange too. I got Ugly Betty Season 1 and a book from my secret santa (Cindy) and Greg got a new body pillow, pillowcase, and book from his secret santa (Ken). The kids really made out good as well. Adrianna got a little kitchen set from us, a great CD from Laurie Berkner from my mom, some old Disney cartoons from my Dad, Karen, and Zach, and a Magna Doodle from Cindy and Kendall. All her gifts have gotten a lot of use already.
All four cousins had a good time together. Ebony is so helpful with her younger cousins and Adrianna did a pretty good job sharing her toys with Layla and Aidan. Aidan fell in love with Big Bear and Layla liked “helping” Adrianna with her new kitchen set.
It sure was nice having my family over. Not only was it a nice distraction for us, coming as it did right on the heels of our rough news, but I also always enjoy family gatherings. Greg and I both felt a little bummed after everyone left.
There are lots more pictures in my November Picasa photo gallery.
Hey Amber! WE had fun too! Sorry i havn’t sent you the pictures of bathtime, been busy, and spent this past weekend with mom and dad to work. Ill get them out this week!
It’s so nice to have so much family around for the Holidays. This year it was just 4 of us celebrating Thanksgiving & I really do miss having the huge event with 20+ people. I also miss the big events because I didn’t have to cook :o)
