Tonight of course is Halloween. This year we went trick-or-treating with Adrianna, and what fun it was! She was dressed as an adorable little duck.
She liked her costume very much, and I didn’t see another duck the whole night. In the picture below, she was playing around and telling me that the duck was “eating her” or “biting her” due to its beak placement at the top of her head. 🙂
We started out the evening by going to a “trunk or treat” at Janette’s church. I had never heard of such a thing before, but it is where people in the church all get together and hand out candy from the trunks of their cars in the church parking lot. Adrianna was pretty shy at first, but eventually would quietly say “Twick-o-tweat” and “Tank-oo” (thank you) when prompted.
Afterwards, we came back to our house and Adrianna and I walked the neighborhood while Greg stayed at home and passed out candy. Adrianna and I had a grand time. We talked a lot during our walk between houses; about airplanes, trains, Tigger and Pooh, Teddy Bear, candy, or whatever else came to her mind.
One house had large Tigger and Pooh inflatables in the front yard. Adrianna was excited to go to that house until she spotted the large, inflatable spider residing near by. Even with my carrying her, she said, “It scaring me.” I told her the spider was just Tigger and Pooh’s friend, which helped a little, but I still had to hold her as we walked past.
After we got back home, we surveyed our goods and let Adrianna have a little pack of M&M’s. Thankfully she didn’t beg for more. But her favorite take of the night? A juice box. Yep, a juice box. She had received one earlier at the Trunk or Treat and we had let her drink it before going through the neighborhood. So when a neighbor placed another juice box into her hippo basket (aka hippo hat), she excitedly exclaimed, “More apple juice!” and talked about it for the next couple of houses.
I believe Greg and I enjoyed tonight as much as Adrianna did.
These are such adorably cute pictures! 🙂
What a cute little duck! Great idea on the juice boxes! I passed out Halloween pencils & erasers and Play-Doh. The Play-Doh was a big hit, but I’ll save the juice box idea. My mom passes out little packages of cheese and crackers which seems to go over well…it’s all about the non-traditional!!
The juice boxes are a good idea. Your duck is REAL cute hehe, i like that she got to use her hippo “hat” hehe
What a precious little duck we have. Love the pics of Mom and Dad too!
your little duck is so adorable!
I agree, Adrianna is a cute little girl, and she makes a very cute little duck!
Nice thing about that costume is it looks warm enough that you don’t have to cover it up with a coat. I always hated wearing a coat over my costume, but it is usually so cold on halloween!
What an adorable outfit. I love it!
