Halloween

We originally had not planned on trick-or-treating this year, making plans for some fun activities as a family at home. (The “Great Pumpkin” visiting and hiding candy being one of them. In part, to make up for the Easter Bunny’s failure to show up in April due to pandemic mental fatigue.)

But when I saw on a neighborhood FB group the precautions many of our neighbors planned on taking and Greg spotted some of those safety measures being prepared while out walking the dog, we made a last-minute decision to go out after all.

The girls raided our dress-up box and off we went. Bree was a princess llama, Cate was a princess unicorn, and Adrianna went with a steampunk theme.

Many neighbors were in their driveways with a bowl of candy at a distance and had bagged candy early in the week or had contraptions to deliver the candy at a distance. It really made the night fun for us all. Even Moose enjoyed the decorations.

I love this little dance of Cate’s.

Thank you to our wonderful neighbors for making our night a fun one! And we still had our fun evening at home afterwards. Greg and I watched It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown with Bree and Cate, as I don’t think they’d seen it. (At least at an age old enough to have remembered.) Then Greg, Adrianna, and I played Settlers of Catan. Greg won. We all agreed that it was a great day.
