I have mentioned before that Adrianna loves to point out and name various objects, bugs, or animals. Sometimes those objects aren’t visible at the time, so if I ask her where it is, she will always say, “Behind you.” We have come to realize that when she says “Behind you” it can mean anything not in sight, but not necessarily or really behind anyone.
This “Behind you” also applies to imagined things, especially ti-dohs (spiders) or bees.
Adrianna:Ti-dow! Ti-dow, Mommy, ti-doh! See it?
Me:Where’s the spider? I don’t see it.
Adrianna:Behind you. See it?
Me: Behind me?
Adrianna: Yes!
Adrianna: [claps hands together to catch/kill it]
Adrianna: Dot it. I dot it, Mommy.
What a brave little Tidoh catcher! I’m afraid of even the imaginary ones.
