My goal is normally going to be two or three a month, but thanks to a weekend road trip with lots of time for audio books, I’ve already finished three, so this month I aiming to complete six.
1) Born a Crime: Stories from a South African Childhood by Trevor Noah (Trevor is the host of The Daily Show and this autobiography tells his story of growing up in South Africa before and after apartheid. I recommend the audio book read by the author, as he includes phrases from other South African languages and hearing him speak them really brings it to life.)
2) Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by JK Rowling. (Did as an audio book with the family – for the umpteenth time for my husband and I, but it was time to introduce child #2 to its wonders. Both child #2 and #3 enjoyed following along in the illustrated version of the book. Also, Jim Dale is an awesome narrator.)
3) The Bad Beginning by Lemony Snicket. (Did as an Audio book with the family – we did the version narrated by Tim Curry and it was excellent.)
4) Searching for Sunday: Loving, Leaving, and Finding the Church by Rachel Held Evans
5) The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan (Going to read this with my 12yo.)
6) The Trojan War by Olivia Coolidge (reading this with my 12yo, too)
