Due to their love of birds, I’ve been reading Trumpet of the Swan to the little girls. This has peaked their interest in trumpeter swans, so we’ve also been watching videos about them and now trumpeter swans have started appearing in their drawings and imaginative play as well. For instance, they started gymnastics on Sunday and Bree was hanging from two rings and swinging and she told me she was pretending that she was a trumpeter swan running across the lake to take off flying.
Bree did this drawing this week, copying an illustration from the book (the original and her drawing together in picture 2). I am in awe of her dedication – she spent a couple of hours on sketch and it really shows!
