Botanic Gardens

Monday was Homeschool Day at the Botanic Gardens, and since their activity was to make bird feeders out of recycled materials, I thought the girls would enjoy going. (Given their fascination with all-things birds these days.)

They were all very creative with their designs.

After their maker-space time, we spent some time in the indoor tropical forest exhibit. Many of the informational signs lined up well with what Adrianna is learning about in Biology right now (biodiversity, conservation, etc.) so that was a nice tie-in to her lessons.

We also spent a little time outside because we wanted to see the Chihuly sculpture, but we didn’t stay long because it was cold outside and Cate had forgotten to bring her coat.

On a side note, I love the dress Cate is wearing, even if it is too small for her. It was my dress that I wore when I was in Kindergarten. I think I have pictures of me wearing it…somewhere.
