Today was Halloween. Cate was a “Queen Chicken”, Bree was a Magpie, and Adrianna went with a steampunk theme.
Cate and Bree both wanted to be birds this year, but I’m not sure where Cate came up with the idea that she wanted to be not just a chicken, but a queen chicken, but we went with it. Bree originally was thinking she wanted to be a blue jay, but the appropriate wings wouldn’t arrive in time for Halloween, so she chose the magpie wings instead.
Cate made a crown for her costume, Bree made a bird head for hers, and Adrianna pieced hers together from things we ordered on Amazon.
Bree, Cate, Greg and I passed out candy for a bit before walking around our neighborhood. Bree had the great idea that, since they were birds, they would say, “Trick or Tweet” instead of “Trick or Treat.”
About halfway through our night, we came upon a house with a firepit and they were passing out grilled hot dogs! Yum! That was a fun surprise and we each had one.
It was quite chilly, so we skipped many of the houses on the side of the street we were walking on to return home quicker.
Adrianna went trick-or-treating with her friends Audrey and Bella in Audrey’s neighborhood this year. My baby girl is growing up! (Also, she is wearing *my* boots here.)
