As much as I LOVED our overseas adventure and the time with just the two of us, I was starting to sorely miss my sweet girls toward the end!
Our final day in Ireland had us getting up super-early. We packed up, hailed a taxi via the FreeNow app, and headed to the airport. We had to go through security twice; the normal security and then an hour later (when it finally opened), the United States security. Thankfully, we passed muster and were soon in the air.
Ireland sure looks different from the air than Colorado does. Look at all that green, and all the cool hedgerows!
Since we were heading west, it got dark as we flew home. There was a cranky toddler near us that cried for most of the flight, so we watched movies instead of trying to sleep (since even my earplugs couldn’t drown out the fussing.) Greg watched The Lego Movie, the Second Part and John Wick. I watched Mortal Engines (since I’d read the book series on our Florida trip), Crazy Rich Asians (since I’d read that book last year), and another one that my fatigued brain can’t remember at the moment.
We were quite tired by the time we arrived at our home around 3pm local time. And so incredibly thankful that Dave and Marilyn had offered to bring the girls back to us so that I didn’t have to make the long Kansas drive again. They got to our house about an hour later.
