My baby is one year old. One YEAR. Time has flown by.
Cate been a busy girl from the beginning when she decided to come so fast that the doctor didn’t make even make it on time (and the nurse barely did!) And now, no longer content to be held for long, she is constantly pushing away to be walking and exploring. It is her favorite thing and she is so proud of herself. Lately though, she has been coming up to us and she will lay her head on our shoulder or chest and just rest for a few seconds in a snuggle before happily toddling off again. It is so very sweet. She likes it when we sit on the floor while she is wandering about so she can climb all over us.
She is my busy little hurricane full of energy, leaving toys strewn in her wake and causing many heart-stopping moments as I quickly clear her mouth of every small item she finds on the floor. (Seriously, how does she manage to find every single bead or Lego so quickly?)
Cate hasn’t done a lot of talking yet, though she can say “uh oh” and I think she has said “da da” a few times in specific reference to Greg. Speaking of which, when Greg gets home she joins in the excited rush to the door with the bigger girls to greet him. Love it.
She currently has five teeth: two on bottom and three on top, with another one on top coming soon.
She adores her big sisters. Both Adrianna and Bree can make Cate break up into fits of the sweetest baby belly laughs.
She is still napping twice a day, for about 45-60 minutes at a time. She is sleeping a solid 12 hours at night and goes to bed quite well (most nights). I can count on a poopy diaper first thing in the morning and after each nap. Maybe she likes the privacy of her crib to do her doody/duty.
Cate still occasionally does her tongue-rolling sound, much to our delight! I hope that continues. Quick to smile and to laugh, she brings us all so much joy every single day.
A comparison of myself and my three girls at 12 months. (Well, I think I am closer to 15 months in my picture.)
