At bedtime three nights ago, Bree crawled into Adrianna’s bed and asked to go “nigh-nights” there instead of in her crib. Since Adrianna usually sleeps in the bed in the spare bedroom (because she likes to stay up late reading), I decided to let Bree try the “big girl bed” for the night, with the instructions that she had to stay in bed or I would put her into her crib.
She stayed in bed all night. And tonight is the third night in a row that she has slept in the big girl bed now.
The timing of this couldn’t be better. Cate has almost outgrown her bassinet in our room so we will soon need to move her to the crib that Bree is now vacating. It is extra convenient that Bree made the transition on her own so we don’t have to worry about that hurdle either.
Now our next order of business is to purchase a bunk bed for Adrianna and Bree and to decide which room we want the crib (and Cate) to end up in: the big girls’ room, the spare room, or in our room for a little longer.
This is very nice that she did this on her own. My first thought though was…how will she be when she sees Cate in her crib. Hoping the bunk beds will distract her of any wanting to go back to the crib. 🙂
