Greg’s company recently had a new release that was a big milestone for them so to celebrate, everyone on Greg’s team was going to go out for dinner. Families were invited to come along, so Greg called me up to see if the girls and I wanted to come. I wasn’t sure I was brave enough to take the girls downtown and mess with the whole parking thing, but when Greg said he’d come home and pick us up first, I was all for it.
To be honest, had I known how fancy the restaurant was going to be, I wouldn’t have chanced it with the girls and would have stayed home and Greg would’ve had to go by himself. Greg didn’t think to tell me how fancy the place was when he invited me! And I assumed, with a name like Capitol Grille, (emphasis on the word “grill” and the fact that I didn’t know there was a silent e in their spelling of it) that it would be a laid-back place like we normally go to. Nope. No kids’ menu and I didn’t see another child in the place besides our three! Yikes. And they brought steamed hand towels out to the table after dinner for us to wash our hands with. Fancy! The cheapest item on the menu was like $45, and that didn’t include any sides. Just the main dish (steak, lobster, etc). Sides were ordered separately and with an additional charge. Ouch. Thankfully, Greg’s company was picking up the tab! The other employees brought their spouses but they didn’t bring kids. They were lucky enough to find sitters. (I had tried to find a sitter but was unable to.)

Glad that all worked out and you had a great time:) I bet your glad Bree didn’t do the screaming thing* ! 🙂
Nice pictures too:)
Best steak I’ve ever had was at Capital Grille. And yes, it IS fancy and expensive. Glad it worked out just right for all of you!
