Our fourth day of our California trip was spent at the beach. We ended up at Huntington Beach since the hotel we loved in Carlsbad did not have any vacancies. Huntington Beach was more touristy and not nearly as laid back as Carlsbad, but we still had a good time and enjoyed watching the ocean waves and playing on the beach. Our hotel was right across the (busy) street from one of the longest public piers on the west coast.
We brought some buckets and shovels for the girls to play with. Adrianna stayed busy digging holes, filling them with water from the ocean and gathering sea shells.
Bree loved the beach too. She was constantly picking up handfuls of sand so she could squeeze it and let it sift through her fingers. In spite of her hat and sunscreen, poor Breezy got her first sunburn on her face, cheeks and wrists.
After our day at the beach, we headed up to our Ramada that was located right across the street from Disneyland. We relaxed for a bit and then headed north about 20 minutes to have dinner with our friends, Mark and Sarah, at The Claim Jumper. Sarah gave us the idea that Adrianna should wear a birthday pin at Disneyland the following day so that everyone who works at the park could wish her a Happy Birthday. She even provided us with a pin that she had gotten on her last trip there. Adrianna adores Sarah and talked her ear off the entire evening. Bree, unfortunately, was very fussy and overtired from our long day with no nap. But we had an enjoyable time catching up with our friends before calling it a day.
