MOPS Steering Retreat

This year, I have been a part of our MOPS Steering team doing finance and registrations. I, along with another girl, Allison, take care of the budget, registrations, attendance and reimbursements. It has been a fun and busy job.

One of our mentor moms allowed us to stay in her beautiful second home in the mountains for a weekend retreat. No kids, no husbands, no responsibilities. It was a weekend filled with lots of chatter and relaxation. We all went with the intention to work on various projects or crafts during the weekend but we ended up just talking, talking, talking the entire time. It was wonderful.

After we arrived on Friday, one of the girls brought out a bottle of Merlot. Even though the house was fully stocked with everything imaginable, the one thing we could not find was a corkscrew. It was a comedy of errors as the girls tried to get that bottle open. Eventually, they were able to push the stopper into the bottle but somehow Merlot ended up splashing out of the bottle. It splashed all over Allison and even, somehow, the ceiling!

Being a resourceful team, someone found a mop and Brittany mopped up the ceiling while the rest of us laughed until our sides ached. Thankfully, no trace of Merlot was to be seen after the cleanup.

On Saturday, we drove down to Golden to walk around the downtown area for awhile. Greg met me there with the girls so I could nurse Bree, since pumping hadn’t gone too well the night before. But this worked out nicely as he was able to take a picture of our group.

This was my first overnight trip away from Bree and only my second overnight trip away from Adrianna, so it was long overdue and much needed. I love our MOPS group – they are an amazing group of women.
