Trunk or Treat

Tonight was our church’s Trunk-or-Treat. Adrianna went as a princess fairy and Bree was a little pumpkin. Both were positively adorable.

Adrianna originally wanted to dress up as Princess Peach, Mario, Luigi, Toad or a Super Girl. But I procrastinated too long and the Super Mario Brother characters were all sold out at the stores we checked this week. She was happy to be a Super Girl but when she spotted the princess fairy outfit today, she wouldn’t hear of being anything else. (Although I am sure Princess Peach would still have held sway had we found one.)

Greg left after a little while to attend his weekly band night, so I was extra glad that Karen was here to hang out with us.

After we received way too much candy from the trunk-or-treating, we went inside to buy some homemade treats from my MOPS group (as a fundraiser) and then hung out in the “slide room” where Adrianna and many other children ran around like crazy maniacs on a sugar high. Adrianna was happy to see her friend Evan, who is one of her choices to marry someday because he also likes Mario. He is 7. And when we left, a little boy dressed as Batman was quick to give her a huge hug. I am not sure who he was and Adrianna didn’t seem to know his name either, though she insisted he was her friend. I wish I could make friends as quickly and easily as she does.

Our little pumpkin got lots of comments from passers-by, and can you blame them?

  1. How fun! I remember the year we went with you and they had a movie going, everykid in the movie was wiggling from sugar! Cute picture of everyone.
