Meteors and Earthquakes

Adrianna has been talking a lot about meteors and earthquakes over the past couple of weeks. Every day, I am bombarded with questions such as, “What would happen if a meteor hit you?” or “What would we do if the ground broke up?” Each time, I try to reassure her that the risks are little of either of these catastrophes happening. The earth’s atmosphere would break up the meteorite and if there did happen to be an earthquake here in Colorado, we would run outside so the building wouldn’t fall on us.

Today we were talking about baby teeth and permanent teeth. We have been preparing her for the eventuality that her baby teeth might start getting wiggly in the next year or so. We also discussed how Bree doesn’t have baby teeth yet but that they are already formed in her gum, just waiting to come out. I pointed out that people get baby teeth for 5 or 6 years and then they get permanent teeth for the rest of their lives. Adrianna was quick to point out, “Unless a meteor hits them, right?”
