Official Induction Date

So we set an induction date with the doctor today: December 22nd at 6:30 a.m. We are being induced since I have gestational diabetes. I am sure the doctor is happy to have it scheduled around his holiday plans too though. 🙂 I am also still measuring about a week ahead so there is not a concern about her growth or size.

Some additional perks about having the end date set is that we will be guaranteed to have her in 2009 (hooray for tax benefits and the insurance deductible already being met for this year). Also, Sun Employees get the week between Christmas and New Years off so that means Greg will have extra time off work automatically without having to take too much vacation.

Some more good news we received today is that since my blood glucose levels have been pretty good and within mostly normal ranges due to my strict diet, I don’t have to go in once or twice a week for non-stress tests. I did have to do those when I was pregnant with Adrianna. I recently found the book where I was logging my glucose levels when pregnant with Adrianna and noticed that quite a few of the numbers were pretty high and out of range. I can see why my new doctor had me see an endocrinologist and chose to have me monitor the diabetes with diet rather than medication since it seems to do a better job keeping the numbers in a healthy range.

Now that we have the date set, I am really excited. That is only four weeks away! I cannot quit thinking about how soon that will be and I cannot wait to meet our little girl.
